In order to obtain a visa, participants from countries not participating in the Visa Waiver Program must apply at the United States Embassy or Consulate in their home country. A THERMO International 2006 letter of invitation may be required as a part of the visa application process. These invitation letters will be produced and sent to the participants upon acceptance of the abstracts of their presentations. We expect that these letters will be mailed no later than February 15, 2006. Please initiate the application process for a visa as soon as possible after receiving your letter of acceptance. IUPAC sponsorship of the International Conference of Chemical Thermodynamics “implies that entry visas will be granted to all bona fide chemists provided application is made not less than three months in advance. If a visa is not granted one month before the meeting, the IUPAC Secretariat should be notified without delay by the applicant.” The organizers of THERMO International 2006 will apply this policy to all participants, including those in other disciplines such as physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, etc. If you experience a problem in obtaining a visa, please contact the IUPAC Secretariat at secretariat@iupac.org, as well as the organizers of THERMO International 2006 at Thermo@boulder.nist.gov . |
